The Responsible Plan was developed by Congressional candidate Darcy Burner (state of Washington), retired military leaders, and national security experts.

Recognizing that the war has been a major disaster for our nation and for the world, the Responsible Plan campaign aims to sweep progressive Democrats into Congress in the fall and end the Iraq war in a responsible way.

Because the Responsible Plan addresses also the underlying conditions that have enabled the war, implementation will help prevent future military interventions, in Iran for notable example.

We ask that Dem. clubs, county committees, and other organizations request their local Congressional candidates to endorse the Responsible Plan too.

In this way we can build an effective nationwide grassroots campaign that ends the war in Iraq and prevents a war against Iran!

The "Responsible Plan"  will

Withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq Ally with the international community to stabilize and rebuild Iraq Redeploy resources to meet the urgent needs of the civilian economy in this country Take care of the troops, veterans, and their families. Protect the Constitution and the American people from any future overreach by the executive branch of government,  to initiate a war against Iran for example.
