Blog July 2008: The Alameda County Democratic Central Committee has passed the following resolution and has sent the resolution out to those California CDCCs for which it has contact information:
"Responsible Plan" Resolution Passed by the
Alameda County Democratic Central Committee on July 2, 2008 WHEREAS Californians join with other Americans in calling for a prompt and safe withdrawal for Iraq; and
WHEREAS Californians join with other Americans in wanting their presidential and Congressional candidates to support such a withdrawal, as well as other proposals of the Responsible Plan, including a return to diplomatic efforts to resolve conflict in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East, the redeployment of American resources to meet urgent domestic needs, the return to Constitutional protections, the provision of good health care and educational benefits to veterans, and an end to US dependence on foreign oil; and
WHEREAS California Democratic clubs and county central committees can play a key role in encouraging Democratic candidates to support and run on the actions proposed in The Responsible Plan:
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee endorses the “Responsible Plan” and requests that Alameda Democratic Clubs endorse this Plan and ask the Presidential candidates and their local Congressional candidates to endorse it also; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee asks all other California County Democratic Central Committees to endorse this Plan and to request that all the Democratic Clubs in their respective counties endorse the Plan and ask the Presidential candidates and their local Congressional candidates to endorse it also. June 2008: The Alameda County Democratic Central Committee will consider, on the first Wednesday in July, the following resolution: The Alameda County Democratic Central Committee: 1. Endorses the “Responsible Plan” and requests that Alameda Democratic Clubs endorse this Plan and ask their local Congressional candidates to endorse it also; 2. Asks all other California County Democratic Central Committees to endorse this Plan and to request that all the Democratic Clubs in their respective counties endorse the Plan and ask their local Congressional candidates to endorse it also. June 2008: Resolution Peace is in communication with Barbara Lee's Office regarding promotion of the Responsible Plan. |
